Sooo. Can I have your stuff?
Soooo the Rapture didn't happen. All the true believers in Jeezy-Weezy were supposed to vanish on the 26th of September. They didn't.
But wait, there's more!
Apparently there's some fuckery regarding what calendar we use now as opposed to back in Jesus's time, so the ACTUAL date of the Rapture is supposed to be... tomorrow today.
Well I, for one, am looking forward to Rapture 2: Electric Boogaloo.
It is a Mystery.
About, oh I dunno a week ago? I had zero appetite for two days, along with stomach pain and nausea. After that my appetite came back a little, and I tried to eat my (awesome) leftovers from eating out a couple days before, before I had to throw that out. That was a mistake, judging by the "I swallowed angry hornets" pain that resulted almost immediately.
After a couple days of this, I did see my doctor. We came to the conclusion that it was either a stomach bug—my roommate had had something similar starting a few days before me (though her doctor told her it wasn't contagious)—or it was my Mounjaro injections (I'm type 2 diabetic). We'd only increased the dosage a little over a week beforehand, from 2.5 to 5 (mg? ml? whatever) so it was possible, though it seemed rather unlikely to me given that it had been over a week.
We agreed that the hope was that it was just a non-serious stomach bug and not the meds, but that if it didn't resolve after a few more days she'd probably reduce the shot back to 2.5. Told me to eat bland foods, mostly carbs really, stuff that's easy on the stomach (no meat, no fried foods, nothing spicy, etc.) and to skip my Mounjaro shot for the week. And I've pretty much stuck to that since. And yet it's still bothering me after several more days. I got nauseous after bending over in the shower to shave and I got nauseous again today while bending over repeatedly to play ball with the dog. I didn't eat much at a friend's birthday either.
I dunno, I just wanna eat fud, man.
Yep, still obsessing over dolls.
I still haven't gotten my project doll taken apart to clean up. I want to, so badly, don't get me wrong. But being sick the last week has kinda taken the wind outta my sails as my fatigue has been worse than even usual. Bleh.
Also I've discovered I'm gonna need curlers (no heat) to style my Our Generation Selene doll's hair. She has lovely curls but they were a bit thrashed by the packaging she came in and it needs redoing. Oh well, I want to get an American Girl Courtney eventually and she wears big ol' curls too, so I'll be prepared, lol.
I tried to finger curl Selene's hair but it really didn't. work very well. Kinda just made a mess. Oopsie.
That said, I currently have her posed holding the adorable Jack-o-lantern themed lantern I got from an eBay seller, and omg I can't wait to take photos of her with it, it's SO CUTE.
A Maybe Vacay?
There's a reasonable chance I'll be going on a cruise with my roommate and some friends in January. I've never been on a cruise and while I honestly never thought I'd ever even get on one of those gigantic germ factories, I am pretty excited at the chance. And I'm hoping to have Mini Me 1.0 done enough to take her with! Cruise doll photos would be awfully fun, haha.
I've been lowkey kinda preparing for the trip too. Gathering bits and bobs that'll come in handy, such as a small array of over-the-counter meds. I got this cool pill sorter off Amazon; it's cup-shaped with seven compartments and a rotating dispenser so you only open one compartment at a time. It even had a little lanyard thingy on it! I've got ibuprofen, extra strength acetaminophen, diphenhydramine (Benadryl) for allergies, anti-diarrheal meds, stool softeners in case the opposite is a problem for anyone, and extra meclizine (non drowsy Dramamine) for motion sickness relief. And I still have a compartment left over, lol.
Something about having the pills all neatly organized in the little sorter is so satisfying.
Also satisfying was taking all the off-brand Immodium (the anti-diarrheal) pills out of the hell-to-open blister packaging they put them individually in now and into the cup. They used to come that way to begin with, in bottles, and there's scads of people complaining in reviews about the blister packaging that unfortunately appears to be industry-wide now for Loperamide. Obnoxious but apparently it was to help fight the opioid epidemic. Because drug users don't have scissors I guess. ¯|(ツ)|¯
I also got travel toiletry bottles, eight of them, and have already filled six of them. Shampoo (I used medicated shampoo so I have to take it when I travel), body wash (I'm picky), O'Keefe's Working Hands Cream (chronic hand-washing = very specific lotion needs), Banana Boat After-Sun lotion (best stuff in the world for sunburns), aloe vera with lidocaine (for the bad sunburns), and dish soap (honestly you never know when you need regular liquid soap!).
Look, I have Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, okay, I really enjoy organizing shit. :P
I actually have a whole-ass list of stuff I want to try to obtain for the cruise. I perused multiple cruise "must pack" lists and compiled my own. It's long. But I will be prepared for anything!
I don't even know for sure if I'm going on this cruise but by god I will prepare as much as I can.
Goodies
I got a couple cute shirts at Five Below the other day and I want to document them because I like them a lot:
I also rather by accident got a new pair of shoes from Walmart completely for free. I found these adorable leather (pleather?) platform boat shoes on Walmart's site. There was only one left in my size in the color I wanted, so I ordered them immediately, for about $30. They arrived the next day with a big ol' yellow clearance sticker that said "$13." That's a big difference in price, guys.
So I contacted customer service through their chat system to point it out. I was hoping for a refund of the price difference, but just that. However the guy on the other end, apparently with permission from his supervisor, just gave me a full, returnless refund.
I got to keep the shoes and got the entire purchase price back as well.
I'm certainly not complaining, but I am pretty astounded. Their customer service online is pretty good but that was way more than I expected.
Whatever. I get to celebrate with really cute shoes on a cruise (maybe).
I can't wait to wear them, even if I don't go on the cruise!
